Our Party's First Couple:

How can anyone not be proud that this is the couple our party intends to send to the white house? They will represent our party well in the fall. Congrats to the entire Democratic Party for letting them officially lead us into the future:

I wrote about this last night... (2.00 / 0)

...was beautiful to see that moment right before he went to the podium. :^)

should we go outside? / should we break some bread? / are you'nterested?

I like strong women! (2.00 / 0)

Anybody who believes that Senator Obama is a misogynist should really ask themselves why a strong woman like Michelle is his spouse.

He's made a few verbal slips.  Most of us that are of the male species do from time to time.

I do.

But my feminist wife isn't afraid to call me out and my respect for her intellect and strength (and my love for her) means I listen and try harder.

Even though, demographically our families are not at all similar, I get the distinct feeling that our household climate might not be all that different.

Re: Our Party's First Couple: (2.00 / 0)

I was trying to be all objective and level-headed on his lead up to the speech...

...but when I saw the fist pound I couldn't stop cheering.

The coolest first couple ever..?

Re: Our Party's First Couple: (2.00 / 0)

For me that was the best moment of the entire campaign.  I love my wife, she loves me, and I know a healthy & intense relationship when I see one.

Re: Our Party's First Couple: (2.00 / 0)

Much better than super-awkward make out session or any other over-the-top "we're really in love, really" political kind of move.  Celebrating the nomination with pounds is awesome.  This is actually something I appreciate (kind of?) about Bush.  He chest bumped a dude the other day.  Jon Stewart observed that if Bush had not screwed up our country, we'd love him for stuff like that.  So when Obama, who seems to have the potential to be very healing for our country, pulls out a college guy move like this, it's fantastic.  Definately my favorite pic from the campaign so far.

John McCain isn't evil. He's just wrong about a lot of things. Vote Obama!

P.S. That also looks kind of like, "See, aren't you glad you agreed to give up cigarettes for this?" kind of face she's making.  :P

That's a fierce woman, right there.  She'll be a lot closer to HRC than Laura Bush, is my guess.

No way. No how. No McCain.

Re: Our Party's First Couple: (2.00 / 1)

I agree. She is not going to be a ribbon cutter, dinner planning type of First Lady. She'll be following the Hillary tradition.

even a patriot's pride is not unconditional (none / 0)

Have YOU been proud of our country's behavior over the last eight years?

If you are, there is a candidate custom made for you, and his name is John McCain.

Re: even a patriot's pride is not unconditional (2.00 / 1)

not of all of our behavior, but I HAVE been proud of America overall for my whole life. Dispite sometimes Republican leadership, I am still proud of how we are the leaders of business and culture and always have been since world war 2. I am proud how even with bad leadership, people will risk their lives, cross borders illegally or smuggle themselves in to live in these American United States. Michelle said "for the first time in my life, I am really proud of my country." ????? That is not what an American first lady says. A first lady DOES go to China and tell them to their faces "women's rights are humans rights." Or a first Gentleman is a well respected philanthropist who draws huge crowds all around the world
